About America Immigration

America Immigration is a free, bilingual information resource that explains how the U.S. immigration system works in plain English and Spanish. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or representation. Our goal is to help you understand your options so you can make informed decisions and recognize good advice from a licensed attorney.

What we do, and what we do not

We publish clear, organized guides on the main areas of U.S. immigration: family-based and employment visas, student visas, green cards and permanent residence, citizenship and naturalization, asylum, deportation and removal defense, and work permits, along with an overview of how the whole process works. The aim is plain language over jargon, and an honest picture over hype.

What we do not do is give legal advice, predict the outcome of any case, or take the place of an attorney. Immigration law is complex, changes often, and turns on the specific facts of each person's situation. We explain the framework; a licensed immigration attorney or an accredited representative applies it to you.

Our standards

We try to be accurate, current, and careful. Where a number or rule changes over time, such as filing fees, income thresholds, or processing times, we say so and point you to the official source rather than stating a figure that may be out of date. We do not invent statistics, and we do not present any immigration result as guaranteed. We also flag clearly when something genuinely needs a lawyer, because recognizing that is part of good information.

Bilingual by design

This domain has a long bilingual history, and we honor it. Our most important pages are available in both English and Spanish so that more people can understand their options in the language they are most comfortable with. You can reach the Spanish section from the navigation or from our recursos en espanol.

How we help you find an attorney

When you are ready for advice, our find an immigration attorney guide explains how to choose a licensed professional, verify their credentials, and avoid notario fraud. Our directory is reserved for vetted, licensed attorneys and accredited representatives; until it is populated, we list no firm names or attorney details and make no specific recommendation.
